Better Crocker I am not…

I am always amazed when I come across Moms that have this knack for being super creative in the kitchen when it comes to baking.  I will be the 1st to admit that I am not a baker.  My 1st sorry attempt at baking a cake was for my oldest daughter for her 5th bithday party. When I brought the cake out to the table my daughter quietly asked “Mommy, what happened to the Cake”?  Yeah, It was a little lopsided and the frosting was very uneven but it DID resemble a cake <snicker>

In my blog reading travels I ran across this entry *The Icing On The Cake* and I was so in AWE of what this mother created!  Perhaps this mom should open up a mini-bakery.. heck, I would supply her with business all year around :)

  1. It’s incredibly easy, I swear! I am NO baker. It’s just a bunch of cake-mix bundt cakes (I think 5, to be exact) cut in half vertically and lined up opposite one another to form a curve.
Add food coloring to the frosting, use a bakery-supplied cardboard to set it up on, and have someone help you frost and decorate (my husband and I had a ball).
You can’t go wrong with cake mixes and a bundt pan – really, it’s very hard to screw up anything that way. Take it from me – I’m a proud cheater! Thanks for the compliment.
